Michael P Germano

JUDGE

Mike Germano

Biography

As your next Judge of the Willoughby Municipal Court, Mike Germano knows what it takes to fairly and impartially serve the communities of Eastlake, Kirtland, Kirtland Hills, Lakeline, Waite Hill, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Willowick and Timberlake.

Ohio Assistant Attorney General Michael Germano is a lifetime Lake County resident and no stranger to hard work, dedication and commitment. Starting at the Kirtlander Party Center at the age of 11, Mike worked long hours as a heavy equipment operator in his family’s business, literally, putting his nose to the grindstone and maneuvering himself through Cleveland State University and then graduating from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.

Willoughby law firm, Wiles & Richards, hired an energetic and aspiring attorney fresh out of law school. Thirty years later, still with the same firm representing your family, friends and neighbors, a well-respected prosecutor, litigator and magistrate, Mike accepted numerous appointments throughout his illustrious career.

Mike practiced before every Judge in Lake County in both civil and criminal matters. Mike, a former long-term Lake County Prosecutor and a Municipal Prosecutor for Willowick, Willoughby Hills and Timberlake, participated in Willoughby Municipal Court hearings two to three times a week. As an assistant law director for Willoughby, Willowick, Kirtland and law director for Timberlake, Mike knows how to work with your city’s officials to maximize your tax dollars, minimize court costs, reduce employee turnover and keep law enforcement officers on the road, an exceptional attribute in a qualified candidate. Furthermore, Germano will partner with other courts’ program for mental health and drug abuse as well as expand the Veteran’s Court Program.

The Supreme Court of Ohio, United States District Court North District, United States Court of Appeals, United States Tax Court have all admitted Germano to practice in their courts. No other candidate shares his career triumphs. His honesty and integrity is recognized by courts and his peers not only across this county, but the State of Ohio.

Judicial elections are different from other campaigns. Running as an independent candidate, Germano is free from political influence often pervasive in other candidates or campaigns. In judicial campaigns, citizens must look to the candidate’s character and breadth of experience.

Germano’s stellar legal career makes him the best candidate for Judge of the Willoughby Municipal Court. He and his committee appreciate your support.

  • Why Am I Running for Judge of the Willoughby Municipal Court?

I am the best candidate with the greatest breadth of experience. I enter this race determined to bring respect, integrity and dedication to the Court. The Court employees, police officers, attorneys and litigants must be treated respectfully and be heard by a judge with an open and understanding perspective as well as a strong legal foundation.

  • Why am I Running as an Independent Candidate?

A Judge must remain neutral and free from any political party influence. Being a member of a specific political party may give voters the perception of favoritism to members of that same party. An independent candidate does not tow the party line. In addition, my philosophies embrace ideology from both Republican and Democratic platforms. I am the only candidate who can bring everyone to the table.

  • Is the Judge of the Court a Full-Time Position?

Yes, it is a full-time job. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aside from managing the court’s extensive daily docket, the Judge is the Court administrator. Good employees and high moral are essential for a positive work environment and low employee turnover. Employees provide the public with their first interaction with Court. It is the Judge’s responsibility to create an exceptional and courteous work environment wherein employees thrive. As Judge, I will be available to all the court employees and look forward to working with each of them.

  • What If I Receive Negative Campaign Materials About You?

I support every individual’s right to exercise freedom of speech. With over thirty years of extensive private legal representation, prosecutorial work and law director positions, it is unfortunately expected a few disgruntled or disappointed individuals will wish to expound on their solitary experience. As a judicial candidate, negative campaign literature should be anticipated. My record speaks for itself. I am highly respected legal professional and assistant attorney general. I have never been disciplined for any improper conduct in the exercise of my legal duties. If you receive information, I encourage you to contact me directly at GermanoForJudge2023@gmail.com.
